| About us |
How the name of our barangay got its name are derived from major situations.
1. Geographical Location
2. Biological Abundance
3. What we have and are know for
4. Honor & Tribute to a rich and influencial person |
It has been told and retold by the elders of this barangay that its name Labaogon came from a tasty native dish most loved by its early inhabitants.
Since the people of this place were not only sea travelers but also sea masters in fishing. It happened one day that a fisherman caught a strange looking creature. They called it pagui (stingray). They were amazed by its wings and it’s sharp edged tail. They then butchered it and had it cooked. They then found out that after adding coconut milk (tono) this tasted yummier. They called it labog. Because of this famous delicacy, the people would call the place labogon. |
