| About us |
How the name of our barangay got its name are derived from major situations.
1. Geographical Location
2. Biological Abundance
3. What we have and are know for
4. Honor & Tribute to a rich and influencial person |
Maguikay, as history puts it, derived it’s name from maghikay, meaning to prepare or cook something. As far as one can remember , the folks of Maguikay were good cooks. They specialized in preparing native delicacies such as bud-bud, bibinka, puto, tagaktak, pinyato, masareal and other delectable delight Mandaue is famous for. As time passed on the term Maghikay became Maguikay. Old folks are still preparing something in the best tradition of the place. |
