Maguikay. Historically, the name evolved from maghikay, Fortuna writes. That means “to prepare or cook something”. Since time immemorial, the people of Maguikay were regarded as good cooks and their specialities were such delicacies s bud-bud,bibingka,puto,tagaktak,pinyato,masareal(or majareal in earlier days), and others that Mandaue has been known for. Maguikay’s oldtimers still prepare these delectable goodies today.
